"Hard at the border" - Improving the protection of young migrants

terre des hommes switzerland invites you: What are the demands for the protection of young migrants at international level and in Switzerland? These and similar questions will be explored with international guests at the conference "Hart an der Grenze" on 4 November in Bern.

Young migrants are at risk of being exploited and abused all over the world. This applies not only to children and young people in developing countries whose fundamental rights are violated. Young migrants are also at risk in Europe and in Switzerland. But legislation, its interpretation and public opinion do not take these dangers into account.

For this reason, terre des hommes schweiz and Terre des hommes - Kinderhilfe, as part of the "Destination Unknown" campaign, invite you to the "Hart an der Grenze" conference.

Guests from home and abroad
Six speakers from Germany and abroad will examine various aspects of this topic in greater detail. Among others, Cécilia Pocasangre from the terre des hommes Switzerland partner organisation ACISAM (El Salvador) will talk about migration as a challenge for youth work in El Salvador. Ignacio Packer, Secretary General Terre des Hommes International Federation, will report on his experiences from the "UN High Level Dialogue on Migration and Development", which will take place on Friday 4 October in New York.

What remains to be done?
Discuss with us about the protection of young migrants. What are the demands for the protection of young migrants at international level? Which solutions are successful in other countries? What measures are necessary in Switzerland?

Unfortunately the registration deadline has passed.
